Goodness is simple.

If you’re using more than three brain cells, you’re already in hell.

The Original Sin is judgment: your attempt to rationalize and debate when you already know the right answer.

If you sincerely don’t think you already know the right answer, you are probably overcomplicating it. Nothing is worth the complexity and Machiavellian compromises you are trying to make.

You already know the right answer. But if you sincerely don’t, ask. Ask the Holy Spirit, or ask, What would Love do? If those are too woo-woo for you, just ask yourself: What is the simple right next step?

Your Demon Chorus may try to complicate things. It uses selfishness disguised as sincere fear. It sounds like “but.” It feels like resistance. You already know the right answer. Knowing is not the issue. Your willingness to be good is the challenge. Your will to do goodness is the Work.

The Demon Chorus promises success, riches, pleasure, safety, worldly outcomes. You can never truly have these things. It is an illusion. You have you and the ongoing moment of experience. You have the quality of your experience of being you.

The ultimate opportunity is the heavenly result of doing the work of simple goodness of which you are already aware. It is not a worldly reward. It is the reward of getting to be you, experiencing life as the version of you who acts in goodness.

It is the you who feels the deep knowledge of your own goodness, not as an intellectual idea or worldly reward, but as self-knowledge: goodness, inclined toward goodness, working toward goodness.

This inner peace, this glowing sense of well-being, is heaven.
