You Cannot Have the Jacuzzi

I’d like to be more clear.

Action is not necessary. It is an opportunity within your life and experience of choice.

It is not merely ambition that misleads you and causes suffering. It is over-investment in the external world of action: in the dualistic appearance of cause and effect, and in the hope that exercising your will upon the shared world will finally satisfy you.

You do seem to affect the matrix, don’t you? So what?

Will you be satisfied when you have the big house and jacuzzi? Is satisfaction even the question?

You must either admit that it is meaningless or identify where meaning actually lives. All else is active insanity: an ostrich’s head in the existential sand. If life has meaning, then when, where, and how?

You cannot touch the jacuzzi. It touches you.

It is not that the shared reality substrate is imaginary, nor that the jacuzzi does not exist. It is that you cannot actually possess a jacuzzi in the way your desire imagines.

What do you actually have?

You can have your experience of a jacuzzi. You can have your experience of imagining the jacuzzi you do not yet own. You can lament or celebrate the loss of the jacuzzi you believe you once owned.

What you actually have is your experience.

That experience includes choice and action. Those are real opportunities. But more fundamentally, there is a quality to experience: not merely its content, but its deeper effect upon the one who experiences it.

The deeper self cannot have a jacuzzi. It is not even an ego.

The truth of all you can ever have is this perception. And the truth of your extent is the full extent of that experience. Delusional projection does not make the external world unreal. But the actuality of the experience you are having is the extent of you, whether your interpretation of it is realistic or not.

When your experience is disconnected from the shared substrate, you effectively occupy a solipsistic world: enclosed in your projections, fantasies, fears, and private interpretations.

When it is connected, you begin to know a fuller extent of spirit. Not only your own experience of choice and influence, but something more inclusive: the shared reality of other beings, each flapping their wings in the wire.

Step out of the matrix. Recognize a more unadulterated experience of the shared moment.

I am not suggesting a magical union. I am suggesting recognition beyond solipsism: an understanding of reality beyond the models projected upon its substrate.

I am welcoming you into the moment, and into a fuller capacity for intimacy with reality.
